Bring back home the solar panels - Be a nature savior

Thin filmed solar panels brought a revolution in the solar photovoltaic industry with its cutting edge cost reduction methods and unmatched efficiencies. The typical solar panels that used hard silicone in its construction have big producing cost and the efficiency does not match the required wishes. Solar energy panels with thin filmed solar cells are what meet the demand of the 21st century. For years solar power had not replaced the energy produced by petro fuels it doesn't remain true anymore. With the new cutthroat edge added to the solar panels, they can meet the needs of the consumers all over.

Solar power cells some years ago were just limited to calculators and other small devices that require less amount of energy to run. The new age solar panels have flexibility working in their advantage. Due to their pliability their fitting on any sort of surface can be done with an effortless ease. For instance, you need to use these solar panels on gigantic surfaces like your patio or rooftops or smaller surfaces like on mobiles, streetlights, and so on. Also the efficiency of these solar panels is more due to the fact that more thin the cell less is the resistance and therefore more is the magnitude. The regular thickness of the cells is around 350 microns while of these cells is just around 1 micron and so intensity of these cells is more as compared to the conventional ones.

As the name, thin filmed silicon has an especially fine layer of silicon on the cell. These cells are of three main types namely amorphous silicon cells, Cadmium telluride cells and CIGS cell.

Amorphous silicon is used in making of these latest solar panels. The advantage of using this sort in solar panels is that it's very easy to deposit a thin layer of it on some flexible metal or plastic sheet and the cost of production is reduced significantly. The efficiency of the panels is around 12-15%.

The cadmium telluride cells are used in making solar panels too. But this sort isn't as hot as the other 2 due to the well known damaging nature of cadmium. It is known spread harmfulness in higher members of food chain by biological magnification. This poses a serious threat to the environment. Therefore, cadmium telluride isn't a favored option although the potency is higher as compared to the amorphous types.

CIGS or copper indium gallium ( di ) selenaide is the latest semi conducting material employed in the making of solar panels. The experimental results are a proof the magical potency of CIGS. The calculated potency of it actually is worked out to be around 19-20% which is just four marks behind the world record holder solar energy panel which has an efficiency of 24-25%. Firms are making an investment in big quantities in the development and manufacture of CIGS cells due to its inexpensive production cost.

These solar panels mark the new beginning of the world toward a greener future.
