Protect The Mountcains Of Cambodia

The Cardamom Mountains are a really beautiful mountain range in Cambodia. The only problem is that they are being completely destroyed by illegal hunting, forestry and land clearance. This is where the Cardamom Project has its job.

It is actually a non profit organisation that has dedicated itself to the preservation of the Cardamom Mountains. They are based in New York City and have got two main goals in mind when it comes to the Cardamom Mountains.

They are trying to raise awareness among the public about how the mountains are being affected by human activity. Many people have no idea how much damage their activities are doing to the mountain range. The project raises awareness through running all kinds of fund raisers and donating the proceeds to the conservation effort.

The other goal for the organization is to make the mountains a way for Cambodia to start to renew their country. They have faced many years of hardship and need to start getting involved in their national heritage. If the locals are able to start caring for their section of the mountain range the damage that the years have caused should be contained and may even be reversed.

The cardamom project is a wonderful project. There really should be more like that around in the world. A lot of mountain ranges and prairies and other landscapes could do with a bit of rescuing and preserving. If the world's population continues with its current pursuits then the world is going to suffer a great deal more.

It is very important that we protect our heritage. Everyone needs to catch a wakeup and begin to campaign for our natural surroundings. There are plenty of people out there who are willing to help out, all that they need are the funds and the cause to flock to. You cannot restore something that is gone completely however you can stop all of the damage that has already occurred from totally destroying your natural heritage if you start now with conservation effort.
