Can Electronic Transducers Help In Decreasing The Effect Of Natural Catastrophe

Man has taken very serious the issues on Security alertness recently. This is so as to live in a comfortable world free of natural disasters. In fact, this has brought about the improvement in the technology world. Although, man is really trying to live in a peaceful world free of disasters, the occurrence has not been prevented completely.

The issue of natural disaster concerns every government around the world. A lot of national income has been allocated to prevent the occurrence of natural disasters. Most times, natural disaster strikes without a prior warning. Lives are claimed as well as people's properties.

The effects of natural disaster are usually fatal; destroying both man and his environment. When natural disaster strikes, the habitat of man is usually disrupted. The topography are destroyed likewise the vegetation. These are due to the sudden strike of natural disasters, although, had man have a prior knowledge, little could he prevent.

There are many ways and forms which natural disasters take. They may occur through any naturally existing matter; air, sand, mud, sea, land, forest, etc. The nature of the natural calamity is greatly determined by the geographical location of the area. A place in the desert would face the natural disaster of wind and tornado. Since the land is open and naked in this area, there may be frequent occurrence of dreadful windstorm.

Water could also be an agent of natural disaster, especially in the costal settlement. There are different forms that water disasters take. When it involves a wind on the ocean causing a massive ingress of water to the coastal side with high intensity, it is called tsunami. This happened in both japan and Indonesia in the recent past years. It was horrific!

However, with the improvement and breakthrough in technology, man has been able to devise ways of getting alerted or informed prior to the occurrence of natural disaster. Although not perfect so far, it has helped in reducing the effects in case it finally strikes. In the case of tsunamis and earthquakes, man has successfully been able to know the magnitude of the portending disaster. With this, people would have been warned to leave the likely place that could be affected. Properties and other valuables would also have all been evacuated before the horrific occurrence strikes.

There is another dreadful form of natural disaster, mud slide. This is a flood with heavy particles of mud. It moves with strong torrent, destroying everything it comes in contact with. Many lives are usually destroyed as people sink in the mud. Properties too are submerged in the mud flood.

Towards curbing natural disasters or at least reducing it to a bare minimum, an instrument, tensiometer, is now employed. Usually, the tensiometer is coupled with an electronic transducers.
